Let’s keep this brief. I thought you’d want to know that our campaign earned the highly coveted endorsement of the Detroit Free Press. Here’s what they had to say:
Candidates of MICHELE OBERHOLTZER‘s caliber don’t come along every day. As director of Detroit-based nonprofit United Community Housing Coalition tax foreclosure prevention project, Oberholtzer has worked tirelessly to help struggling Detroiters keep their homes. It is thankless, difficult work, and her boundless commitment to the people she serves bespeaks the kind of dedication she’d bring to Lansing.
The 4th encompasses parts of Detroit and Hamtramck. Rico Razo, Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan’s District 6 manager, is also a noteworthy candidate. But Oberholtzer displays a deeper understanding of the poverty that bedevils her district, and a keen appreciation for the difference between sensible policy and its successful implementation on the ground.
Remember, there are 14 candidates in this race- this endorsement is a big deal! All of you who have supported this campaign should be celebrating too.
